Comic strips (just click for another enlarged one)
When I was a kid, comic strips were considered non-intellectual... However, my uncle hid some belgian comics (mainly Tintin) in a cabinet, and my grand mother also had vintage french comics.
I really started knowing comics when I joined the university. I got acquainted with belgian comics (see the french side of this site), and with anglosaxon comics too. My preferred one among those latter ones has always been Charlie Brown (Schultz), although from all the characters, I may like Schroeder better.
Nowadays, I sometimes indulge into the tricks of Garfield, but I definitely prefer those of Dilbert (Adams) and his pals...
